Call for papers - Making Politics. The Role of the Media in Sociopolitical Practice in Latin America XIX-XXI

The exercise of politics has been linked to a greater or lesser degree to the speeches and messages disseminated by the media. Leaders, parties, intellectuals and personalities linked to exercise and political theory have conveyed their words in pages, minutes or images with the aim of reaching as many recipients as possible. It is thus intended to deepen this relationship and the theoretical-methodological convergence that analyzes the turn of the information industry from the initial point of the political and / or doctrinal press to the (re) significance of this category in the light of development of the information industry throughout the twentieth century and based on the new forms of linkage established by the parties with communication. Proposals are expected that delve into case studies, methodologies, content analysis or general reflections about the use of the media by politics and that affect its historical value to rethink the commercial press, the mass political press and / or the militant press as object-subject of study, as instrument or political agent.
