Activity:
Professor of State in Economic History and Geography by the Technical University of the State (1968), Degree in Philosophy and Letters, Historic Mention of America (1980) and PhD in Philosophy and Literature, mention History of America (1984) by the Complutense University of Madrid. She has also taught at the Department of Historical Sciences of the University of Chile and the Institute of History of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, as well as teaching as a visiting professor at the Universities of Sao Paulo, Santiago de Compostela and Extremadura in Spain, and La Plata. She has been Director of the Institute of Advanced Studies (1993-2005) and Dean of the Faculty of Humanities (2005-2011) at the University of Santiago de Chile.
