He is Academic of the Department of History of the University of Santiago de Chile since 1993 and Director of the Master's Program in History of the same University since 2013.  He is the author and co-author of books such as El Mirage de la Plata (Editorial Universidad de Santiago, Santiago, 2008), Fragments of a History.
